| My name is Emma Smits and I am an Admissions Counselor here at Franciscan University. I graduated in 2011, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts (Multimedia) and Business Administration (Marketing). As a student, I balanced my academics with being actively involved in household and residence life, intramural sports, Missions of Peace, and various music ministries. I am originally from Southern California and heard of Franciscan University by attending the Steubenville San Diego youth conference four years in a row before going to Steubenville West for another two years. After planning on studying architecture at a top school in California, I finally visited Franciscan, felt the call to come, and never regretted it! The intersection of art, design, and media is my passion, and I have received an excellent education here that’s integrated with the universal Catholic worldview.
