Monday

  • PreK - K
    • There's a Method to our Madness in K and Pre K Science

      Presented by: Dawne Howard

Science experiments are exciting and educational. Young scientists can begin to learn about the Scientific Method while they experiment and have fun! Prompting them to think, "What if..." begins the flow of scientific thinking. Come prepared to experience the world of Science like a Preschool or Kindergarten child.

  • Grades 1-2-3
    • Primary "Connect-Chains"

      Presented by: Kris Pascale

In this session there will be demonstrations and examples of how models and experiences help primary students connect with strategies and abstract concepts in math, language arts, science, and social studies.

Kris continues to develop engaging activities to help all students as they make their journey toward mastery. You can expect to leave PRIMARY "CONNECT" CHAINS with ready to use ideas to meet the needs of your primary students!
  • Grades 4-5-6
    •  Enriching the Curriculum Through Higher Order Skills

      Presented by: Ellen Foster

"If we don't laugh we'll cry!" That was our motto this past school year; as we attempted to implement the Common Core standards and new PARCC tests without sacrificing having fun in our classrooms. The stations you will encounter, during this session, will cover all subject areas and interdisciplinary units aligned with the common core. As well, these stations will include the higher order thinking skills and technology rich learning that students will need to be successful in the classroom.

Tuesday

  • PreK - 6
    • Portfolios, Common Core, The Bag Ladies and Beyond

Presented by: The Bag Ladies (Karen Simmons & Cindy Guinn)

Join the Bag Ladies as they turn brown bags into easy to use portfolios, subject notebooks, and creative pocket holders for students of all grades and curriculums. With the goals of higher level thinking skills and recording of core ideas, the Bag Ladies bring you new and favorite bag portfolio ideas and projects. You will "think out of the bag" with these all subject notebooks and activities that follow the common core objectives. Grab your scissors, wide tape, glue sticks and scotch tape and join these gals as you create student "stop and jot" holders and beyond. If you have seen them before, you will love to make these bag projects with them, view new and old projects, and create fun and useful activities for the classroom.
