STEUBENVILLE, OH—Franciscan University of Steubenville's Academy of Lifelong Learning (ALL) will host "A Conversation With Our City: Come See What's Happening," the first of four lectures in the newly established Rose DeFede Lecture Series, on Thursday, March 31, at 7:00 p.m. in the Seminar Room, St. Joseph Center.
Presenters will include Lou Stein, founder and president of Valley Ventures, and ALL vice president Sue Stanko's son Tom Stanko, architect and Steubenville native who is working on designs for the town entrance. The discussion will cover the town entrance, beautifying the wall at the bridge site, and development of the marina and waterfront, among other aspects of local development.
"Steubenville and the broader Jefferson County area have an opportunity to truly begin to see a resurgence in the area in which we live, work, and play," said Donna Keagler, a member of the ALL's Special Events Committee and one of the organizers of the first lecture in the series. "We're trying to get as many people involved as possible. Everybody has something to give."
The lectures are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will follow. For more information on the first lecture and to RSVP by March 17, call Donna Keagler at 740-266-9466.
