MattMaher_picSTEUBENVILLE, OH—Catholic singer and songwriter Matt Maher will perform his top hits in Finnegan Fieldhouse at Franciscan University of Steubenville on March 24, at 9:00 p.m. Maher is a nationally acclaimed musician who has released four full-length albums. His most recent, 2009's Alive Again (Essential) includes such popular singles as the title track and the energetic anthem, "Christ is Risen."

At World Youth Day in Toronto in 2002, Maher's "Litany of the Saints" was sung at the official papal evening prayer, with Pope John Paul II singing along with 700,000 young pilgrims from around the world. Maher also led worship at World Youth Day in Sydney, Australia in 2008 and leads worship at Franciscan University's summer youth conferences.

Ticket sales will benefit the House of Mary, Mother of All Children orphanage in Haiti, established and run by Franciscan University alumni. Read more about the orphanage in the Spring 2010 issue of Franciscan Way magazine. You can also learn more and get updates at Movin' With the Spirit Mission: Haiti.

Tickets to Maher's are now on sale for $10 at the Information Desk in the J.C. Williams Center, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Tickets will also be sold for $10 at the door. The concert is sponsored by the student group Excite.
