STEUBENVILLE, OH—“For Greater Glory,” an epic film about the struggle for religious freedom in Mexico, will be shown in Franciscan University of Steubenville’s Finnegan Fieldhouse on Monday, September 10, at 9:00 p.m.
“For Greater Glory” actor Eduardo Verástegui will introduce the film, which details the struggles of a passionate group of men and women who defended religious freedom when faced with a brutal repression of the Catholic Church during the 1926 Cristero War. The film details the price that must be paid for freedom, and the journey that transforms rebels into heroes.
Verástegui, who also starred in the movie “Bella,” acts alongside Academy Award nominee Andy Garcia, Golden Globe nominee Eva Longoria, and the legendary Peter O’Toole. Director Dean Wright, whose special effects credits include blockbusters such as “Titanic,” “The Lord of The Rings,” and “The Chronicles of Narnia” brings his visual power to tell this true story.
