    February 05, 2013

STEUBENVILLE, OH— It was a disappointing week for all three of the Franciscan athletics teams currently in-season, as the men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and women’s swimming and diving teams all fell in their competitions this week. Men’s and women’s basketball both fell at Penn State-Behrend, 88-36 and 63-47, respectively…The women’s swimming and diving team had its last regular season competition of the year, and fell at Penn State-Altoona to the host team 60-43, and also to Chatham University 62-49. They still hold the top seed in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference and will travel to Grove City College for their conference finals Feb. 13-16.

    Coming up…

The women’s and men’s basketball teams will travel to La Roche College in Pittsburgh, Pa., this Wednesday for games at 6 and 8 p.m, respectively. They will then host Medaille College on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 1 and 3 p.m. The men’s game will honor lone senior from either team, Frank Murray, who has missed the entire season with an injury.
