Summer Sports Camps Coming

STEUBENVILLE — There is still time to sign up for Franciscan University summer sports camps in volleyball, basketball, and tennis for middle school youth (ages 9-14), and soccer for high school youth.
The girls' volleyball camp will be held July 12 – 15. Franciscan University volleyball head coach Kelly Herrmann will direct the camp, assisted by local athletes and coaches including former University of Pittsburgh volleyball team captain Melissa Stadelman.
Basketball Camp will be held August 2-5, for girls and boys. Kelly Herrmann will direct the camp, which will feature guest speaker Liz Repella, a Big Red High School graduate and basketball player at West Virginia University.
Tennis, a new offering this year, will be held July 19-23 and is open to girls and boys ages 11-14. Franciscan University tennis head coach Curtis Allen will direct the camp.
The cost for volleyball, basketball, and tennis is $90 per camp, with several discounts available.
High school soccer team camps are open to men’s and women’s soccer teams. The men's team camp will run July 19-23, and the women's will run July 26-30. Both conclude with a scrimmage tournament. Franciscan University soccer head coach Johann Marin will direct the camp, assisted by Ward Rogers, Carlow University soccer head women's soccer coach Marcus Pollidore, and others.
Marin is also offering training camps for goalkeepers. The men's camp will be July 5-9, and the women's will be July 12-16.
The cost for the soccer team camps is $125, and the goalkeeper training camp is $150. For players attending both camps, the cost is $200.
