A letter from Bishop Vann
Dear fellow parishioners,
Next year, I will lead a pilgrimage to France with Father Michael Ciski, TOR, parochial vicar of St. Maria Goretti Church, June 30 to July 9, 2012. The theme of our pilgrimage is "Shrines of France."
From the Marian apparitions at Lourdes to the incredible life and labor of the Curé of Ars; from the enduring charitable legacy of St. Vincent de Paul to the spiritual riches poured out through the devotions promoted by St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, St. John Eudes, and St. Catherine Labouré; from the first years of the Catholic faith in France to the present day, this eldest daughter of the Church has offered tremendous spiritual, cultural, and historical wealth to the faithful and the world. Now I invite you to come with me to explore these great gifts. France has given so much to the Church and to the world, even during times of secularization, turmoil, and war—great saints, wonderful works of art, a high level of culture. Come with me and experience all that the shrines of France have to offer.
May the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts pour forth abundant love and grace into your lives, now and as we travel through France, a land where they have called forth such great devotion and manifested such tender care for all the children of God on this earth.
Yours respectfully,
Bishop Kevin Vann
