Brief Bio

Earned his bachelor of music education degree at Baldwin Wallace College and the master of arts degree in choral music at American University. Professor Melhorn taught for the Quantico Dependant's School System, Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia, and for Steubenville Public Schools prior to joining the faculty of Franciscan University.

Professor Melhorn has extensive experience in choral conducting and vocal coaching, having studied with, among others, Robert Shaw, Norman Luboff and Greg Smith. He is much sought after as a pianist, organist and music director for musical theater productions. In addition to his work at Franciscan University, he also serves as music director at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Steubenville and as a music consultant and accompanist for Steubenville Public Schools.
