I came to Franciscan University because I was looking for a strong theology program. Once I arrived here, however, I found a whole lot more.
One of the best things I discovered about Franciscan is that the science programs here are really strong. The professors know their stuff, and the classes are challenging and stimulating. You’re also able to have lots of one-on-one interaction with the professors. That makes a difference when you’re struggling with some of the harder concepts.
There also are lots of research opportunities here. That’s important to me because after studying biology here I’ve decided that someday I’d like to work as a researcher. Right now, I’m especially interested in ecology and immunology.
As great as the academics are, however, the community life is even better
Franciscan is a long way from Texas, and I thought it would be hard to make the transition. But everyone is so friendly and open that the transition was actually really smooth.
Being at Franciscan has definitely changed me. There are so many opportunities here. There are opportunities to grow intellectually, serve the Church, and grow closer to Christ. Those opportunities have helped me to see the faith in a different light. They’ve also helped me to see myself in a different light.
I know that I’m being prepared to go out into the world and serve Christ in ways that I wouldn’t have been able to if I hadn’t come to Franciscan University. I’m so thankful for that.
