STEUBENVILLE, OH--Did the end of the football season leave you itching for more? Get a dose of an even more rough-and-tumble sport at the 4th Annual Robert D'Anniballe Rugby Ruckus on Saturday, April 12, at Harding Stadium.

Kick-off will be at 7 p.m., as the Franciscan University Barons take on the University of Pittsburgh Panthers. The 4-1 Barons last faced their Allegheny Rugby Union rival last September. Though the Barons lost 32-17 in a hard-fought contest at Pittsburgh, the Barons 55-0 victory over Ohio State University in last year’s Rugby Ruckus should put the Panthers on notice that the Franciscan club is ready for a rematch on their home turf.

A pre-game barbeque tailgate party will be held at 5 p.m. in the former TEAM Pontiac parking lot across from Harding School. The entire Steubenville community is invited to gather with alumni and friends of Franciscan University for some of the best barbeque in the Valley served up by Baby-Boyz BBQ. Ribs, pulled pork, chicken, and a variety of sides will be available for purchase along with beverages.

General admission for the game is $5 at the gate. Admission is $3 for students with valid ID, youth 7-12, and senior citizens. Children under six are admitted free. Concessions, prizes, a 50/50 raffle, appearances by Baron von Steubie, the new Baron mascot, and a Franciscan team poster signing after the game will add to the fun.

All proceeds will benefit the Baron Rugby Football Club. For more information about the tailgate festivities, contact the Alumni Office at 740-284-5210.
