Center for Teaching, Learning, and Leadership
The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Leadership is a resource for faculty, providing information about teaching and learning at Franciscan University of Steubenville. The Center, a subsection of ASPIRE, is divided into two sections: 1) Assessment of Student Learning; and 2) Effective Teaching. The Assessment of Student Learning section houses assessment goals and initiatives. It includes such things as assessment goals, unit plans, and Assessment Committee actions. The Effective Teaching section provides information holistically to faculty. Information pertaining to innovations in the classroom, faculty evaluation, and faculty development is provided.
"The purpose of the Corporation [University] is to further the higher education of men and women through programs of liberal, professional and pre-professional studies leading to the conferral of the baccalaureate and master degrees in the arts and sciences. Said degrees shall be conferred in accordance with the provisions of the Articles of Incorporation of the University and the laws of the State of Ohio
"It shall be the further purpose of the University, publicly identified as a Catholic and a Franciscan institution, to promote the moral, spiritual, and religious values of its students. The University will be guided by the example and teaching of St. Francis of Assisi."
