STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - It was a huge week in Baron Athletics andit all wrapped up with Homecoming Saturday. The Baron rugby team poured on the offense eclipsing the 50-point mark for the second straight game as they defeated Fairmont State, 50-14…Volleyball hosted their Dig Pink breast cancer awareness event on Saturday, and after two losses earlier in the week the Lady Barons fought back from a 1-0 deficit and won three consecutive games to take home the win…Women's soccer used a week long hiatus from the playing field to rest and prepare themselves for their trip to Hilbert College where they got back in the win column with a 5-1 victory…The first half struggles continued this week for the men's soccer team which dropped both contests…Women's tennis defeated Bethany College 7-2 before dropping two consecutive matches to challenging non-conference opponents in Westminster (Pa.) and John Carroll as they prepare for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament. The Lady Baron netters are undefeated and hold the No. 1 seed in the AMCC Tournament…Men's tennis finished its non-traditional season 0-3 after falling to John Carroll on Saturday.

Although the week is quiet in Baron Athletics, things pick up again this weekend. On tap for the Lady Baron volleyball team is a home match on Wednesday, Oct. 10, against AMCC foe Mt. Aloysius University…The cross country teams kick off a busy Saturday as they travel to Oberlin, Ohio, for the Intra-Regional Rumble…Rugby looks to continue their domination as they finish their regular season at Slippery Rock University at 1 p.m. …Playing at home on Saturday are the women's and men's soccer teams, which face off against D'Youville College at 1 and 3 p.m., respectively, as well as the volleyball team hosting a tri-match with Chatham and Grove City College, games at 1 and 3 p.m.
