Renovating Egan Hall: $4 Million

Built in 1962, Egan Hall is, in many ways, the academic hub of campus. For more than 40 years, the building has housed classrooms, faculty offices, and the Anathan Theatre. Decades of heavy use, however, are beginning to take their toll, and the building is in need of numerous renovations, both structural and aesthetic.

Currently, the building’s heating and cooling system is failing, while the antiquated electrical system cannot support the needs of twenty-first century technology. The aluminum windows are also reaching the end of their useful life. Other problems include outdated restrooms, inadequate lighting, and rapidly aging classroom furniture.

In order to make Egan Hall more conducive to the academic, social, and spiritual needs of students, planned renovations include:

  • New entrances, both for the main building and Anathan Theatre
  • New windows and doors
  • A façade that will match the newer and remodeled buildings on campus
  • A café, where students and faculty can congregate
  • A small chapel
  • New HVAC, electrical, and data systems
  • Up-to-date instructional technologies, including multi-media projectors, DVD players, high speed Internet, and campus network access for all classrooms
  • New carpeting, paint, lighting, ceilings, and furnishings for all classrooms
