Bioethics Programing: $3 Million
When does life begin? When does it end? Who draws the line between ethical genetic research and unethical genetic manipulation? Because of rapid advances in the scientific world these questions are now a routine part of life for doctors, nurses, and researchers. But what are the answers?
In the coming years, Franciscan University wants to help the medical and scientific community find those answers, answers that respect the dignity of the human person and the sacredness of life. Establishing an endowed chair in bioethics and securing bioethics programing dollars for the new Franciscan University Bioethics Institute will allow us to do just that. Through those initiatives, the University can take the next step in helping form the minds and hearts of those on the front lines of the bioethics debates according to the truth of Catholic teaching.
