Dr. Michael Joyce graduated from The College of Steubenville in 1970 with a degree in Elementary Education. He taught for six years in local public and Catholic school before making a transition into adult education in 1976. At that point he went to work for the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services helping public assistance recipients obtain jobs and job training. This position led to his obtaining an appointment to Jefferson Technical Institute as Director of Adult Education. During his twenty-five year tenure with the now Community College he served as Dean of Students and retired in 2001 as Vice President for Student Services, Research and Institutional Development. Upon retirement, he was asked to assume the role of principal at Holy Rosary Central School in Steubenville, a position he held for three years. Since 2004 Dr. Joyce has served as a consultant with Franciscan University and Pittsburgh Technical Institute, and a full and part time faculty member with The University of Phoenix on-line and Franciscan University. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in Graduate Education at Franciscan. He holds a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Dayton, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from The University of Sarasota.
