Franciscan Fast Track Overview

Fast Track, the dual-enrollment program at Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio, offers high school students and their families an affordable and accessible Catholic higher education. Beginning in the fall of your junior year of high school you can start earning up to 36 college credit hours. Students can take up to 2 courses per term in the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms of their junior and senior years.

By taking full advantage of Franciscan Fast Track you can finish your bachelor’s degree 12 months earlier than a traditional, four-year degree path — a savings of up to $30,000 in tuition.

Transition to Franciscan University for on-campus undergraduate studies and feel right at home: 20 percent of our undergraduate students come from a homeschool background. Or transfer your earned credit to an institution of your choice.

Here are just a few more highlights of the Fast Track program at Franciscan:

Easy enrollment

Complete the Fast Track application. Transcripts or standardized test scores are not required for the application. An admissions counselor will contact you within 24-48 hours to assist you with the enrollment process.

Fast Track eligibility

To be eligible for the Fast Track program you must be at least 16 years of age and have completed your sophomore year with a GPA above 2.4. You can begin taking courses in the fall of your junior year.

If you take two or more Fast Track classes and receive a C or better, you can gain admission to on campus undergraduate study in our Student Success program or its equivalent.

Further, if you take three or more Fast Track classes and receive a B or better, you can be granted regular admission for on campus undergraduate study.

After Fast Track

While all high school students from the Fast Track program are welcome to finish their undergraduate studies at Franciscan in Ohio, it isn’t mandatory. Fast Track provides the intellectual development and solid personal Catholic formation that will serve you well wherever your educational path leads you.

Like our on-campus classes, Franciscan Fast Track’s 100-percent online classes allow high school students, whether conventional or homeschool students, from Ohio and around the world to experience a Franciscan education and Catholic intellectual formation. Franciscan Fast Track helps homeschool families reduce the cost of Catholic higher education while affirming the transformative experience of a Franciscan University formation and education.
