STEUBENVILLE, OH—Dr. Robert C. Doyle, a professor of history at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, delivered a lecture on American treatment of enemy POWs at the Pritzker Military Library, one of the premier military history facilities in the nation, on June 26, 2010. He gave an overview of the material in the third volume of his POW series, The Enemy in Our Hands: America's Treatment of Prisoners of War from the Revolution to the War on Terror. Doyle, a former naval intelligence officer and Vietnam veteran, is also the author of A Prisoner's Duty: Great Escapes in U.S. Military History and Voices from Captivity: Interpreting the American POW Narrative. He has been a consultant on several films and documentaries, including Hart's War.
