'The Visit' Comes to Anathan Theatre | Franciscan University of Steubenville
  • The Visit Comes to Anathan Theatre

What would you be willing to do for one billion dollars? Franciscan University’s Theatre Department will explore this and other tough questions with their latest performance.

Directed by Dr. Monica Anderson, The Visit tells the story of a destitute town that must choose between the money offered to it by a now-wealthy former citizen, Claire Zachanassian, and the life of the town’s most popular citizen on whose head Zachanassian has placed a bounty.

A darkly comic drama, The Visit shows a down and out town that faces a decision between extraordinary wealth and the health of its soul.

Tickets are $4 for adults, $2 for students; tickets are free for children under 12 and for clergy and religious.

Tickets are available at the faculty secretary’s office in Egan or by calling 740-283-6245 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. For faculty and staff and their families, tickets are half price for opening night, November 8.

    The Visit will be performed:

    • Friday and Saturday, November 8-9 and 15-16, at 7:00 p.m., and
    • Sunday, November 10 and 17, at 2:00 p.m.

Audience Discretion Advisory:The Visit is an engaging and intriguing examination of the corrosive power of greed, but due to the nature of the subject matter, The Visit may not be appropriate for young audience members.
