Student satisfaction, academic success, high graduation rate, and post-graduate success factored into Franciscan's ranking.Forbes senior editor Caroline Howard said Forbes partnered with the Center for College Affordability and Productivity to look at the return on investment of a college education, helping students and their families answer questions such as "Are current undergrads satisfied? Is it likely I'll graduate on time or incur a ton of student debt? Will I get a good job and be a leader in my chosen profession?"In its profile of Franciscan University, Forbes cited Franciscan's core curriculum, mentioning courses such as Foundations of Catholicism, Christian Moral Principles, and Scripture and Tradition.
