Bernardo GonzalezManager of Guest Services & Head Women's Soccer Coach
I was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and moved to Steubenville, Ohio, shortly thereafter. Growing up in the Steubenville area gave me a great love for Franciscan University. I grew up in a vibrant Catholic community and attended Catholic School my entire life. Franciscan served as my home away from home. When I wasn’t at school or playing sports, I was on campus as part of the Franciscan Family.(740) 317-1579
Corinne PurcellAdmissions Counselor
I was raised in the Baltimore, Maryland, area in a family of six kids, and was blessed to be part of a lively Catholic parish. I went to an all-girls high school there, and I lived in South Korea for three years. My desire to grow and strengthen my faith with like-minded young people brought me to college at Franciscan, where I graduated in 2015 with a degree in Psychology. After a year of teaching at a preschool in Washington, DC, I came back to work in Admissions here at the place that so greatly influenced who I am today.(740) 317-3937
Sarah HullAdmissions Counselor
My name is Sarah Hull, and I am an Admissions Counselor at Franciscan University. I hail from sunny San Diego, California. I graduated from Franciscan University with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Human Life Studies. Franciscan has been one of God’s greatest blessings in my life. After two years at a large public college, my desire for an education which instilled in me a thirst for knowledge and a community that pushed me to grow both intellectually and spiritually brought me to Franciscan. Through sanctifying friendships, constant opportunities for spiritual growth, and a well-rounded education Franciscan helped shape me into the person I am today. I am both honored and excited to be a part of aiding others in their journey to this exceptional university!(740) 278-5393
Christopher KrivoniakDirector of Admissions
I grew up in Steubenville, OH and have been around Franciscan University for most of my life. My parents are from Pittsburgh, PA and settled in Steubenville after my dad graduated from the College of Steubenville in the early 80’s. I graduated from Franciscan with both my BS and MBA through the 4+1 MBA program and then spent over 10 years working in the corporate world. I am so very happy to be back here. Franciscan University prepared me through the academic programs available and internship opportunities to be successful in my field and my time here also helped me grow in my Catholic faith. I met my wife here and we have 3 beautiful children who are a blessing to us each and every day. I am ready to serve you as you begin your college journey. God Bless!
Bridget McCartneyAdmissions Counselor
My name is Bridget McCartney and I was born and raised in rural Northwest Ohio, where I was homeschooled before attending an all-girls Catholic high school. I am the fifth in my family of seven, so I always had older siblings to learn from. I was the fourth of my family to attend Franciscan, and I graduated in 2017 with my Bachelors of Arts in Communications. My four years at FUS were incredibly formative – diving into my studies, joining a household (The Little Flowers), being student worker in the admissions office, traveling to fifteen countries – including two foreign mission trips – and cultivating lifelong friendships were some of the experiences that shaped my character. Now, working for the University is an immense blessing, because everything we do is for the Glory of God!

Vanessa WielandAdmissions Counselor
My name is Vanessa Wieland, and I was born and raised in sunny Santa Barbara, California. Shortly after converting to the Catholic faith, I packed up my life and moved to Steubenville to finish up my undergraduate career. I graduated from Franciscan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a concentration in Multimedia. Over the last few years, Franciscan has truly become my home away from home. I received not only an academically excellent education here, but a spiritually excellent education as well. At Franciscan, you will be challenged in more ways than just through academics. Without my numerous formative experiences here at Franciscan, I would not be the person I am today. I am so overjoyed to be giving back to the place that has given so much to me!(740) 317-5090
