Will I have class at specific, scheduled times (synchronously)?

No! Franciscan’s MBA Program is asynchronous and has no live sessions. You may access course materials—recorded lectures, readings, discussion boards, or assignments—at any time convenient for you. Assignments and activities will have deadlines, but you have flexibility on when to engage with the content.

How are classes structured?

Online MBA classes are structured on a web-based Learning Management Platform. You will access all course materials, such as pre-recorded lectures, readings, discussion boards, assignments and self-paced tests, via this platform. Each course is eight weeks in length.

What is an MBA?

A Master of Business Administration, or MBA, is a graduate-level degree that focuses on developing advanced skills in business management and leadership. Franciscan University’s MBA is designed to equip you with a broad understanding of various business functions, while also preparing you for a virtuous leadership role. You don’t just become a good business professional; you become a force for good in the business world.

What makes a good MBA program?

What distinguishes a good MBA Program are: high-quality education, engaged and accessible faculty, globally recognized accreditation, and an extensive alumni and employer-affiliated network.

Franciscan’s online MBA Program has all four of these general "good MBA" attributes. But what really sets our program apart is that it develops virtuous leaders to be a force for good in the world.

Our students, faculty, and alumni seek the greater good in themselves, others, and the world, making them highly sought after by corporations. Most MBA programs teach ethical leadership, but our Franciscan MBA will teach you both ethical and moral leadership through the lens of Catholic social teaching. Learn more about the importance of Catholic social teaching here.

Is an online MBA the same as an in-person MBA?

An online MBA gives you the same rigorous education you would receive from a residential or in-person MBA program. In a typical eight-week online MBA course, you will accomplish the same type and amount of work you would be required to complete for a residential or in-person MBA course. However, an online MBA gives you the added benefit of completing assignments on your schedule.

What is the benefit of having an MBA accredited by the IACBE?

Franciscan’s MBA Program is accredited by the International Accreditation Board for Business Education (IABCE), a globally recognized seal of approval for MBA programs, especially by potential employers or other institutions.

The IABCE accreditation also ensures our MBA Program meets specific quality standards in terms of curriculum, faculty qualifications, resources, and student outcomes. Having an IABCE-accredited MBA can lead to better job opportunities and potentially higher salaries.
